Frequently Asked Questions
Common Questions and Answers about CNC Machining Capabilities, Materials, Precision, Lead Time, Quotation, and File Formats.
Pre-Production Problems
How do I get a quote and DFM feedback?
You can get a quick quote in two ways:
- Upload one or more 3D CAD files on our “Get a Quote” page.
- Send 3D CAD files directly to our email (info@xhyecnc.com or your sales contact).
We usually reply with a quotation within 24 hours of receiving your RFQ. If there is any delay, we will notify you promptly.
What file formats are preferred?
- 3D files: STEP, IGES, X_T, or STL (preferred).
- 2D drawings: DWG or PDF with reference dimensions. All machining is based on high-quality 3D solid models.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes. We take intellectual property protection very seriously. We can sign an NDA and strictly follow our factory confidentiality policy.
Is there a minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
No. We support flexible volumes from single-piece prototypes to small and medium batch production.
What are your shipping terms?
Standard terms are EXW (Ex Works). Customers are responsible for shipping, customs clearance, and related costs. We also support DAP via DHL Express or allow you to use your own DHL/FedEx/UPS account.
What is the typical lead time?
- Rapid CNC prototypes: usually 3–9 days.
- Complex parts or special processes: may take longer.
- Air shipping from China to Europe/US typically takes just a few days.
What payment methods do you accept?
We offer flexible options including:
- Bank wire transfer (Hong Kong and Shenzhen accounts)
- PayPal (including credit cards)
- Western Union, Payoneer, Alipay, WeChat Pay, Cash, etc.
New customers usually pay in full upfront. After successful cooperation, we can consider 30-day credit terms. For production orders, we typically use 50% deposit + 50% balance before shipment (with high-resolution photos for confirmation).
What processes and services do you support?
CNC precision machining (3/4/5-axis), sheet metal fabrication, 3D printing, vacuum casting, injection molding, and a full range of surface finishes (sandblasting, anodizing, electroplating, powder coating, laser engraving, painting, etc.).
On-Production
How do you ensure quality?
- We are ISO 9001:2015 certified.
- Full DFM review after order confirmation.
- Incoming material inspection + in-process monitoring + final inspection before shipment.
- Real-time sharing of inspection data; CMM or 3D scanning reports available upon request.
What are your tolerance standards?
Tolerances depend on part size, geometry, material, and surface requirements.
- General metal parts: ISO 2768 (fine), typically ±0.05 mm to ±0.125 mm.
- Plastic parts: ISO 2768 (medium), typically ±0.1–0.25 mm.
- Tighter tolerances (up to ±0.005 mm) achievable per drawing requirements.
What is the maximum part size?
Approximately 1200 × 800 × 600 mm (larger parts can be split and machined).
What surface finishing capabilities do you have?
We offer comprehensive post-processing including assembly, polishing, sandblasting, painting, anodizing, electroplating, passivation, vapor polishing for clear parts, etc., to match the appearance and performance of final products.
After-Production
Do you insure shipments?
We do not insure deliveries by default. You are welcome to purchase your own insurance or use your courier’s coverage.
What about import duties and customs?
Duties vary by country and product type (refer to HS code). U.S. customers may qualify for duty-free import for prototypes used in development (HTS 9817.85.01). We can provide all necessary export documents.
What if parts are defective?
If dimensional or quality issues are confirmed to be our responsibility, we will remake the parts for free and cover the extra shipping cost. Standard parts are usually remade in 2–3 days; complex parts are prioritized based on the situation.
Do you provide inspection reports?
Yes. We can supply material certificates, CoC, OQC reports, CMM reports, etc. Please request these when placing the order.
